Today was day seven! The goal for today was to walk five miles! I have never walked five miles in my life!!! So when I met up with the group our instructor, Ruth, told us that we would be walking three times around the trail. That's six miles! I completed the challenge and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. That's almost 1/2 of the 1/2 marathon. I can totally do this. I also loved getting to meet everyone who is doing the 1/2 marathon. It was very inspiring. The only thing that really hurts right now is my feet. They need to be rubbed! Maybe I will hit up Justin for a foot rub. He is the most amazing boyfriend. Cianna walked the six miles with me. I was very proud of her. She kept me company! Love that little thing so much! I am also proud of my momma!!! She walked the six miles too! Way to go momma!!! Love you!
I gotta check on the plans for tomorrow but school starts so I will be sitting most of the day so I am sure I will be ready to get out and walk.

Day 4
Today is day 4 and man is it cold outside!!! Today's assignment for the training for the half marathon was to:
32 minutes of walk for 3 minutes and run for 1 minute
Well, I tried. I ran 1 time and let me just tell you it's darn cold! It is 25 degrees outside but feels like 14 degrees with the wind chill. I didn't even walk two miles. My toes felt like they were going to fall off and my lungs were just hurting! But you know what...I tried. I walked at least a mile around the Lunsford Trail and then decided I was miserable. But I got a little bit of walking in and I am proud of that. Better then nothing. I will try again tomorrow.

Day 2
Well today was Day 2 of working towards the 1/2 marathon! I wasn't really sore from walking/running so that was good. This was my training for today:
Tuesday: 30 min cross training (anything but walk-run)
So Justin and I went for a bike ride. I don't know how far we went maybe 3 miles? It took us around 40 minutes and we didn't stop. We kept a moderate pace. He loves riding bikes and can ride for hours. However, I can't! Number 1, it hurts my butt like nobody's business! Number 2, my thighs were killing me! Number 3, I get nervous that I am going to fall and crash! I am going to learn to like it I know but I just don't like it yet. I do like it better then running though!
Today, I am super sore from the bike ride! My butt cheeks hurt!!!! My thighs hurt! And I am tired. I didn't sleep well because my hips were hurting all night. It happened to me the other day too so I don't think its from the bike ride. I am just going to have to watch it and see what's causing it. Today, there is no training. It's a day for rest! Praise the lord! I don't think I could exercise today because I am so sore. So I will be posting again Thurs!

Day 1
I have decided to train for a 1/2 marathon. I am really excited and want to use this blog to track my progress and needs of improvement. So today was Day one and this is what I was supposed to do:
Monday: 32 min, walk 3 mins, run 1 min, Moderate Pace
Justin and I did it together which made it a whole lot more fun and not as dreadful. I might mention that it was 33 degrees outside which made working out harder but we made it. The cold weather makes it harder to breathe and my legs and toes felt like they were going to fall off! Thankfully, they didn't fall off but I think they will be sore tomorrow.
I also woke up early this morning and did a one mile walking video so I was pretty proud of myself for getting up. Tomorrow I am subbing and that will take a lot of energy out of me but I plan on doing the cross training tomorrow to stay on track.
I have also tried to buy some healthier foods to eat. Eating sandwiches at lunch and veggies instead of McDonalds or Bueno. And trying to eat smaller portions. I can't bare to throw away Christmas candy so I think I will just have to save it and eat a little each day as a reward. I can't help it! Ok more tomorrow...
